Admission to TWLS
TWLS's admissions process is designed so that the school, student applicant and parents can make an informed decision about whether TWLS is the right choice for each child. It is important that interested students and their parents gain as much information as possible about TWLS.
Applications are accepted year-round and new students are typically admitted at the beginning of the fall and winter semesters. Because many of our students are fragile learners and require a consistent learning environment, we usually do not accept new students at other times during the school year.
For admission in the 2008-2009 school year, the ideal time to apply is between December and May. Applications received before March 1 will receive priority consideration.
The Admissions Process
The admissions process begins when you contact TWLS for a tour and application form. To register for an Admissions Tour, please click here.
What happens next? You'll be invited to tour TWLS. During your tour, you'll receive an admissions packet containing an application form and more details about the school. If you choose to move forward with the process, complete the application sheet and return it with a $75 fee. The admission's packet also includes a form for teacher feedback from your child's current school, as well as other documents requesting information and records.
Once your child's profile is reviewed by TWLS, you'll receive a phone call to schedule a student visit. Afterwards, the admissions committee will determine whether enrollment is the next step.
Tuition
Providing a specialized education program with a 9:1 student-to-teacher ratio or less is a challenge and comes at great cost. Tuition, fees, grants and special events are the resources available to fund the effort.
Rebates and Tax Benefits
State legislation makes it possible for many parents of private school students to receive partial rebates on transportation costs. In addition, parents may also claim a deduction on their Minnesota State Income Tax return. Tax laws are subject to change. For up-to-date details, confer with your tax advisor.
Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $16,000 plus a technology fee of $500.
